What is overage?

Overage lets you keep issuing certificates after your monthly quota is reached. Each extra issuance is charged per unit on your next invoice. Overage is enabled by default on all paid plans. You can disable it or set a monthly limit at Settings → Billing → Overage.

On the Pro plan and above, WhatsApp is included in all issuances, both within quota and in overage. The “Without WhatsApp” column applies only to the Starter plan.

Setting a spend limit

In Settings → Billing → Overage, you can:
  1. Enable or disable overage
  2. Set a monthly spending cap, such as R\$20/month
When overage spending reaches that cap:
  • New issuances are blocked until the next cycle
  • You receive an email alert when you hit 80% and 100% of the limit
  • Issuances resume when the cycle renews

How the cycle works

Overage resets on your billing cycle date — that is, the day your subscription started, not the first day of the month. All overage charges are automatically added to your next Stripe invoice.

Practical example

You are on the Pro plan, with 1,000 issuances per month. In August, you issued 1,247 certificates. The 247 overage issuances cost R$0.40 each. Total overage for the period: R$98.80.

Disabling overage

If you disable overage:
  • Issuances stop when the quota is reached
  • No extra charges are incurred
  • Overage can be re-enabled at any time
If overage is disabled and the quota is reached during an event, the remaining recipients will not receive certificates until the next cycle or until the plan is changed.
