# WhatsApp Delivery

> How WhatsApp certificate delivery works across plans.

## Why WhatsApp?

WhatsApp is one of the main certificate delivery channels on That's Me. Compared to email, it tends to offer faster reads and higher open rates.

| Channel  | Open rate | Average time  |
| -------- | --------- | ------------- |
| Email    | \~20%     | Hours to days |
| WhatsApp | \~90%     | Minutes       |

Recipients receive a message with a link to view, accept, and share their certificate.

## How it works by plan

### Starter — add-on

On the Starter plan, WhatsApp works as an **optional add-on**:

* Cost: **+R\$49/month** (+\$9/month)
* Activation at **Settings → Billing → Add-ons**
* When active, issuances include WhatsApp delivery
* When inactive, certificates are sent by email only

### Pro, Business, and Enterprise — included

On the **Pro**, **Business**, and **Enterprise** plans, WhatsApp delivery is included in all issuances at no extra cost. This applies to both within-quota and overage issuances.

## Message type

Certificate messages are classified as **utility messages** under Meta's WhatsApp Business API:

* They are transactional notifications, not marketing campaigns
* They comply with WhatsApp's commerce policy
* Recipients can opt out of receiving further messages

<Tip>
  That's Me does not use this channel to send promotional campaigns. Messages are tied to certificate delivery and tracking.
</Tip>

## Supported countries

WhatsApp delivery works in countries where the WhatsApp Business API is available. The message cost is already built into the plan or overage price, as applicable.

## Activating and deactivating

**Starter plan:**

1. Go to **Settings → Billing → Add-ons**
2. Click **Activate WhatsApp** or **Deactivate**
3. The change takes effect immediately

**Pro and above:** WhatsApp remains active by default and cannot be deactivated.

## What the recipient receives

The WhatsApp message includes:

* The issuer's name and the event name
* A direct link to view and accept the certificate
* A preview image of the 3D badge

Delivery is made from That's Me's verified WhatsApp Business number.
